My good friend had birthday last month. I decided to do this colorful bouquet for the occasion and Anna seemed to love it a lot.
I wanted to come up with something bright, but did not find too many bright flowers that day in the market. Hence, decided to go with the colorful container. I used turquoise ribbon leftovers, from th workshop and mixed it with narrow satin fuchsia ribbon.
Its very simple to create colorful containers by using regular ribbons . This way you get a chance to have “new containers” whenever you want and what’s important, you could reuse the ribbons in other arrangements or for other occasions.
Bouquets and arrangements with dahlias always look effective. Although the flower does not live for too long it definitely helps to leave huge impression and live in our memories for long. They come in different colors, but my favorite is this so called “red dahlia”. In reality it is of deep burgundy/fuchsia color and makes a perfect flower for fuchsia or burgundy weddings.

When I was little my parents grew them in our orchard and we always had dahlia bouquet ready for our favorite teacher on September 1, the first official day of the school year. Oh, I miss those times.

Coxcombs can create a very nice texture and to me personally remind the velvet scarf that I have somewhere in the closet. We created a nice bouquets and the centerpieces with their help and our bride loved it a lot.

We went to California this summer and on my way to a small park in Palo Alto I found this pomegranate tree. Part of it was still in red blooms and the other part had clearly formed fruits. How amazing.
 Green crafts from Moss&Rose
It’s been a while, since we updated our blog. A lot happened during this time. But the most important change was our move from Brooklyn to Queens. We now rent the studio in a very green and beautiful neighborhood called Rego Park. Lots of trees, parks and flowers around us.
We’ve got the balcony, decorated with the handmade wooden flower box, kindly made by Anton. Our website address was carefully burned into it and I think it looks awesome. Its so much fun to do everything with your hands and from all material leftovers. Our next step will be to talk our landlord into installing the sun batteries on the roof, so we could produce our own energy and in the mean time avoid overheating the roof.
Our new address is 66-07 Alderton street, 2nd floor, Rego Park 11374 NY.

The change from winter to spring is always fascinating. Spring blooms are so long-awaited and eye refreshing.
Snow drops are like a sip of fresh spring water. Their small and narrow petals look so fragile, yet very assuring of a new life under the snow. Crocuses are bold. Their colors make us want to wear bright clothes and to finally come out of winter hibernation.

 New Year inspired floral arrangement
We love holidays. Every holiday gives an opportunity to create something new. This year we did simple arrangements with pine branches, having little cute cones on them, gorgeous white amaryllis and sophisticated cinnamon sticks. The arrangements look very elegant and festive.
If you want to create a long lasting arrangement we suggest you using the pine branches with pine cones, acorns, moss, cinnamon sticks and succulents. It looks very simple and unusual and surely has the winter holidays feel to it.

Fuchsia, orange and purple wedding in Battery Gardens
The most beautiful season of the year is almost over and we wanted to share some of the fall colors with you. We love fall, because everything around turns yellow, orange, brown and red, and the sky is clear blue.
Judith and Jon’s wedding was full of early fall colors. The bride wanted to use orange, fuchsia and purple as primary colors. In her bridal bouquet and center pieces we used locally grown orange and fuchsia dahlias, which were in pick season. We also used oak leaves, that started changing the color, to point out the most beautiful season of the year. The wedding was in Battery Gardens restaurant and the day was beautiful. What can be better than pretty eco friendly wedding on a sunny day near the water?

Peony is one of my favorite summer flower. It was named after Paeon, who was a student of Asclepius, the Greek God of medicine and healing. Asclepius grew very jealous with his pupil and Zeus saved Paeon from the anger of Asclepius by turning him into the flower.
Peonies range in color from red to white or yellow and I love them for being very fluffy and incredibly fragrant. There are about 40 types of these beautiful species. They are native of Asia, Southern Europe and Western North America. These days peonies won the hearts of millions and are being grown almost everywhere. Here, in the tri -state area, local peonies become available in the end of spring, beginning of summer. So if you are planning on having the peonies in your wedding bouquet, please have it mind.

This week Moss&Rose had a yellow mood, therefore we created a bunch of yellow arrangements. We used corral roses, yellow calla lilies, freesias and ranunculus. For green accents we used lily grass, air plants and poppy pods.
If you want to spruce up your space with splashes of yellow call Moss&Rose at (347) 537-4442 or email : info@mossandrose.com.
I remember the wonderful scent of lilac since I was a child. My parents had 5 lilac trees in the garden and in spring we always had this flowers all over the house in vases, bottles and every possible container. I wonder how they managed to have plenty of blooms left in the garden.
This week Moss&Rose created the nice japanese style lilac, roses and amaranthus arrangement for one of our accounts. For the office we decided to create another purple and green arrangement. It had other hues of purple, and lisianthus definitely made it look very dramatic.
Want to create a special mood with the splash of color? Moss&Rose can make it happen. Call (347) 537-4442 or email at: info@mossandrose.com
